FAQ

DonationPixel collects contributions for NGOs devoted to humanitarian causes, cooperation and development.
What are DonationPixel’s main lines of conduct?
DonationPixel works with the following purposes in mind:
- DonationPixel does not take any practical part in the realization of the projects and is not directly in touch with the affected individuals or communities it supports.
- DonationPixel identifies the NGOs best capable of efficiently realizing a project.
- DonationPixel signs a contract of temporary collaboration for the length of the project. When the above-mentioned contract is signed, DonationPixel launches an appeal to donors. If the response is financially satisfactory, DonationPixel can give the NGOs part or all the funds necessary to achieve the project.
- DonationPixel is responsible for monitoring fieldwork progress and for controlling the use of the money. We verify whether funds are actually used as planned.
- DonationPixel also gives the donors feedback about the evolution of the project through regular updates, with photos whenever possible, on the DonationPixel website.
How does DonationPixel choose partners?
Generally, the criteria are as follows (particularly urgent situations sometimes require a different course of action):
- Sometimes, in collaboration with organisations in donor countries, DonationPixel supports the projects of national NGOs in developing or emerging countries or small local NGOs, which do not get much support and have hardly any possibility of getting in touch with donors.
- DonationPixel gives priority to the projects themselves, but may also help trustworthy NGOs to become self-reliant.
- In the course of its collaboration with local NGOs, DonationPixel aims to give them the opportunity to improve their organisation and offers their collaborators an opportunity of self-development.
- DonationPixel strongly believes that including an element of development in each project will have a positive long-term effect. This should allow each country to prevent humanitarian catastrophes or to be able to face them by itself, should they happen.
How does DonationPixel choose partners?
DonationPixel first collects detailed information about the NGOs. Then detailed contracts are signed which clarify the aims of the project, the schedule of the different steps of the project and the conditions of payment of the instalments. Finally DonationPixel checks fieldwork, bookkeeping and written proofs.
What are the ethical principles of DonationPixel?
- The partners of DonationPixel must give guarantees of good management, and refuse any shady deals.
- DonationPixel is neutral in political and religious matters.
