According to DonationPixel’s basic principle, the donor chooses the projects he wants to support. Then he determines the amount he wants to contribute and makes himself visible as soon as his payment has been made.

But it is also possible to sponsor DonationPixel for its activities as a whole without appearing as a visible donor.

What is the use of the contributions “outside projects”?

In the countries where we support important projects, people also let us know about projects that are very useful without costing much money (between a few hundred and a few thousand dollars). They are started by modest NGOs appreciated by DonationPixel for the quality of their work or which are recommended to us. Occasionally, generous projects get started by individuals who deserve some form of support. The necessary amounts are not important enough to justify a special presentation with photos and descriptions on our site. Thanks to contributions “outside projects”, when we are there, we can help those NGOs or those activities efficiently with relatively modest sums of money.

However we remain faithful to a basic principle we care for: we only help those who have already helped themselves in a visible way; which means that the groups or persons we are ready to help must show that they have made a real effort under their own circumstances and in the local conditions of life. In any case we verify that their management is sound before helping them financially so that they can complete their project. Whenever it is possible, we prefer to assist them in the purchase of the material or the services they need (for example sewing machines, tools, the rent of a place for a certain period of time, etc.) Anyway in each case we require receipts and accounts, which we are duly verified for our own accountancy.

This sponsoring “outside projects” also allows us to face some extra expenses in the realisation of the projects presented on the site, especially when the donations do not cover the cost; it could also be useful to cover expenses connected with the identification of new projects.
